The issuance of numbers for candidates contesting the Parliamentary election will be delayed due to the ongoing curfew, Elections Commission sources said.
The Elections Commission previously said the numbers would be issued to the candidates on May 04 in order to conduct the election on June 20.
However, under the current circumstances, it is still not clear whether the election can be held on June 20, as planned.
The Elections Commission Chairman has made it clear that the election cannot be held on June 20, if the country does not return to normalcy before May 15.
The government, on Friday night, decided to extend the curfew till May 11 due to the rising numbers of COVID19 patients in the country.
