Colombo MOH Ruwan Wijayamuni said legal action would be taken against the Assistant Director of the Sugathadasa Stadium over dengue breeding places within the premises.

Sports Minister Dallas Alahapperuma yesterday inspected the Sugathadasa sports hostel where Sri Lankan players were housed before leaving for the South Asian Games.

According to reports, 13 players suffered from Dengue during the tournament. Some of them were not able to take part in their regular events due to the unexpected development.

Authorities found out at least 10 dengue breeding places within the premises where Sri Lankan players were housed before the tournament.

It was revealed that the authorities of the stadium were warned at least 10 times about the appalling condition of the area surrounding the hostel.
