The Police have granted a further extension of 48 hours to hand over swords, machetes, rambo knives and military-style fatigues to the authorities.
The Police last week requested the public to hand over privately owned swords, machetes and military style clothing to the nearest police stations over the weekend as a way of enduring public security.
The announcement came after the security forces found a large number of swords and machetes from many public places, including Muslim religious establishments.
However, no announcement has so far been made on the number of swords and other items handed over to law enforcement authorities over the weekend.
