Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera said the threat of terrorism in one of our countries is no doubt a threat to the entire region.
The remarks came against a backdrop where Sri Lanka has received support from a number of countries to battle Jihadist terrorism.
"It is therefore in all of our interest to collaborate and coordinate our efforts and measures to eradicate global terrorism," Samaraweera said addressing the SAARC finance ministers' meeting in Fiji.
"I am confident that if we work together, we will succeed in bringing peace, stability and prosperity to the entire SAARC region” he added.
The meeting of SAARC Finance Ministers was held on the sidelines of the 52nd Annual meeting of Asian Development Bank in Nadi, Fiji.
