Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa held a discussion with former heads of the country's defence apparatus on the current situation in the country.
Former Navy Commanders Wasantha Karannagoda, Jayanath Colombage, former Army Commanders Jagath Jayasuriya, Daya Ratnayake, former Police chief Mahinda Balasuriya and former Air Force Commander Roshan Gunathilake were among those who attended the meeting.
The discussion centred on combatting the Jihadist terrorism in Sri Lanka which led to the Easter Sunday explosions on April 21, sources close to Rajapaksa said.
The Opposition Leader's Office said Rajapaksa would prepare a comprehensive report based on the discussion in two days and present it to the government.
