President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will have a meeting this morning to discuss the current situation in the country.
Sirisena returned to Sri Lanka early this morning after a private holiday in India and Singapore.
Meanwhile, a party leaders meeting will also be held this morning to discuss measures to prevent the possibility of another terrorist attack.
The President's Media Division announced that the President will appoint a Special Investigation Committee within next 24 hours to investigate causes behind the 'national catastrophe' that occurred on the island.
It also stated that the investigations committee will be headed by a Supreme Court judge.
The Speaker has also convened a special session of Parliament to discuss the current situation.
