Four passenger flights have been diverted from the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunaike, to the Mattala International Airport due to adverse weather conditions. 

Heavy rains and strong winds were reported this evening in many parts of the country, including the Western province. 

BIA authorities said they would continue to monitor the situation closely and adopt appropriate measures.
