Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Pieris informed the Colombo Fort Magistrate today that drug kingpin Makandure Madhush will be deported to Sri Lanka this week.
Madhesh, who was arrested in Dubai in February, currently remains under the custody of Dubai authorities.
The Deputy Solicitor General who appeared before the Magistrate on behalf of the Attorney General's Department said he would be questioned on the alleged assassination plot on President Maithripala Sirisena upon his return to Colombo.
Makandure Madhush's name has been linked to the alleged assassination plot, first revealed by Army deserter Namal Kumara.
The case was taken up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dassanayake this morning.
The Magistrate also ordered to further remand former DIG Nalaka de Silva until April 23 over the same case.
