The third reading vote of budget 2019 will take place in Parliament this evening.
Several UNP MPs expressed confidence that the final vote on the budget would pass with a resoundig majority in Parliament.
At the second reading vote, the budget was passed with the support of 119 MPs in the House.
The United National Front and the TNA MPs are expected to vote in favour of the third reading of the budget.
The UPFA meeting jointly chaired by President Maithripala Sirisena and Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa to make a final decision on the third reading vote of the budget has ended without a decision.
Informed political sources said the UPFA group supporting Sirisena will meet separately today to make a final decision on the matter.
The Joint Opposition group supporting Mahinda Rajapaksa has already decided to vote against the third reading of the budget.
