Sri Lanka cricket captain Dimuth Karunaratne has been arrested by the Borella Police for drinking driving and causing an accident on Kinsey Road. 

Police sources said Karunaratne had been under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident. 

They added further police investigations are underway. 

Karunaratne is tipped to lead the Sri Lanka cricket team during the upcoming ICC World Cup.
