The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has released popular singer Amal Perera's son, Nadeemal Perera, after obtaining a statement for over seven hours. 

Nadeemal Perera was detained at the Katunaike Bandaranaike International Airport by the CID this morning upon his arrival from Dubai. 

Dubai authorities deported Nadeemal Perera yesterday after detaining him for over 02 months.

It was earlier revealed that Nadeemal Perera was cleared of drug-related charges when his blood samples were tested by Dubai authorities. 

Amal Perera and other suspects who were arrested in Dubai earlier this year continue to remain in detention in Dubai.
