IUSF Convenor Maheel Bandara, who was arrested last week during a protest, has been released on bail. 

The IUSF convenor was arrested during a protest staged by his organization against the proposed Counter-Terrorism Act (CTA) replacing the current Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA). 

The protestors blocked the Parliament roundabout restricting vehicle movement causing severe traffic in the area. 

The Police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protestors. Some protestors were taken into custody by the Police.
