A suspected gas explosion occurred within a shop at the Kollupitiya junction this morning. 

The Police said 11 shops have been damaged due to the incident. 

Four people, including a Chinese couple, have sustained minor injuries while another person is currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital. 

The Police are conducting further inquiries.
