A protest by Grama Niladhari officers has forced the closure of Parliament road from the Parliament roundabout. 

As a result of the protest, heavy traffic was reported in the area this morning.

The Grama Niladhari officers have staged their protest against the government's failure to resolve 17 issues faced by them.

The closure of Parliament road has taken place before the budget speech which will be delivered in Parliament at 2 PM.
