Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Mendis has strained his ankle during a training session at Port Elizabeth earlier today ahead of the second Test match against South Africa.
SLC sources said Mendis' participation doubtful for the second Test match against South Africa as a result of the injury.
There is a possibility that Angelo Perera will replace Mendis in the second match in which Sri Lanka will look to secure a series victory.
Mendis' performance, however, has been below par during the recently concluded tour to Australia and in the first Test against South Africa.
