Lakshman Nipunaarachchi, a Western Provincial Councillor of the JVP, has written to the Provincial Governor saying the Council was planning to spend Rs. 650,000 per chair. 

The Councilor said the order had already been placed for imports chairs for council members at exorbitant prices. 

The councilor, on behalf of the JVP, sought the Governor's intervention to prevent the purchase. 

He said the move to spend Rs. 650,000 for a single chair was completely unjustifiable.
