Former Champion athlete Sugath Thilakaratne has marked his entry to politics by addressing the public during the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Diriya Puravesi Conference in Gampaha yesterday.

Robosingho Arachchilage Don Sugath Thilakaratne was born on July 30, 1973 in Norton Bridge, and is an athlete who competed in short distance events, specially the 400 metres – his major achievement is qualifying to the semi-finals of the 2001 World Championships.
