100 Wi-Fi machines will be set up around the city of Colombo to make the city tech-friendly and meet the demands of the increasingly technological world.
The Wi-Fi machines will double up as a mobile phone recharger as well as hold a trash can that can hold up to 75 cubic litres of waste at a time.
The Wi-Fi project, conceptualized by the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, has seen 25 Wi-Fi machines already been installed around Colombo – 10 of them operational.
As a second step, Wi-Fi machines will be installed in key locations in the cities of Matara, Galle and Kandy.
