GMOA Calls Off October 6 Strike After Government Acquiesces To Requests To Withdraw Post-Intern List

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has called off its strike scheduled for October 6 (Friday) after the government acquiesced to demands and cancelled a post-intern appointment list that did not have Tender Board approval.

Speaking to reporters at the GMOA Headquarters in Colombo today the GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Alutge said their planned strike for October 6 was called off after the Health Ministry conveyed its willingness to draw up a new post-intern list, with Tender Board approval.
