The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) is to expand their services by establishing permanent officers in landslide prone areas.

The proposal by Disaster Management Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa received the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Accordingly, two permanent officers with modern laboratory facilities will be established in selected districts to help mitigate the increasing risk of landslides.

The NBRO, established in 1984, is the premier research and development institute providing technical service to create a disaster free environment in the nation.
