The Police headquarters said that they launched a special programme this weekend to identify drivers who violate road rules and drive recklessly.

Police said the programme, which will be in force this week, would be implemented in the Colombo area.

Legal action will be taken against those found violating the law, Police further said.

The programme is another step towards minimizing accidents and creating disciplined drivers.
