United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) parliamentarian Arundika Fernando crossed over to the Joint Opposition (JO) this afternoon after making a special statement to Parliament.
Fernando, who was formerly the Deputy Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Affairs, was removed from his post by the President on September 12.
He removed by the President for publicly professing his support for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the JO.
However, there were rumours the President would reappoint him to a position after he apologized to the President for his conduct on September 13.
