The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) attached to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) investigating the Treasury bond issue informed the Bond Commission today that data was missing from former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran’s phone.
On August 14 the PCoI ordered that all communication devices belonging to Arjuna Mahendran and Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) CEO Kasun Palisena are handed over to the CID attached to the Bond Commission.
Arjuna Mahendran is being investigated into the nexus that resulted in PTL – that is said to be owned by his son-in-law Arjun Aloysius - recording a profit of Rs. 5.1 billion for the year that ended in March 2016.
