Fairly strong gusty winds can be expected over the country, particularly in the Central hills of the island, the Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces, and in the Hambantota district, the Meteorological Department said.

It said light showers would occur in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Northwestern provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts and warned the public to take adequate measures to minimize the impact of adverse weather conditions.
