Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran appeared before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) investigating the Treasury bond issue to testify today.

On September 13, the Bond Commission notified Mahendran through his lawyers to be present before the tribunal to testify today.

The Bond Commission is investigating the nexus between Mahendran and his son-in-law former Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) Director Arjun Aloysius.

PTL recorded a profit of Rs. 5.1 billion for the year that ended in March 2016 while the former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran was at the helm.
