President Maithripala Sirisena arrived in New York this morning to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The President was greeted at the airport by Dr. Rohan Perera, Sri Lanka’s permanent representative to the United Nations, and other embassy staff.
President Maithripala Sirisena is expected to address the General Assembly tomorrow (19) to brief the UN on the progress made by the consensual government.
The President will hold a series of bilateral meetings with heads of government and other dignitaries on the sidelines of the Assembly.
The President is due back in the country on September 26th.
