The Power and Renewable Energy Ministry has requested all employees who have retired after September 1, 2014 to report back to duty on a voluntary basis.

The request comes as trade unions attached to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) enter their fourth consecutive day on strike.

The trade unions attached to the CEB are asking that salary anomalies are rectified by the government immediately.

They have said they would continue strike action until they receive a favourable response from the Power and Renewable Energy Minister.
