President Maithripala Sirisena's brother, Lal Sirisena, has been remanded in connection with an accident in which two siblings were killed. 

The accident had occurred in Polonnaruwa, on Saturday. 

It is learnt that one of the two victims was a strong supporter of the JVP.

The double cab, which the President's brother was driving, had collided head on with the motor cycle of the deceased. 

The President's brother surrendered to the Police after the incident. 

He will be produced before court again tomorrow.
