Former Sri Lankan cricketers Roshan Mahanama and Aravinda de Silva are being considered for the Chairman of Selectors position left vacant by Sanath Jayasuriya, last month, SLC sources said.
Mahanama and De Silva were members of Sri Lanka's world cup winning team in 1996.
De Silva has previously served as the Chairman of the Selections Committee and as a Consultant to the Sri Lanka Cricket team. He later resigned from his consultancy role when the SLC kept him in the dark about certain important decisions.
It is still not clear whether the two veterans have expressed willingness to accept the 'hot seat' as Sri Lanka's cricket is currently on a downward spiral.
Sri Lanka Cricket manager Asanka Gurusinghe, another member of the World Cup winning team, will also be included in the new Selections Committee.
However, former Sri Lankan cricketer Sidath Wettimuny , in an interview with BBC Sandeshaya, suggested to appoint Mahanama as the head of Sri Lanka's cricket administration, in the interim.
