The Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) investigating the Treasury bond issue discovered that former Minister Rosy Senanayake’s son Kanishka Senanayake had allegedly provided Perpetual Treasuries with copies of the first COPE report on the Treasury bond issue while his mother served on the Committee.
The report of the Committee On Public Enterprises (COPE) was not publicly available at the time that former Minister Rosy Senanayake’s son Kanishka Senanayake had apparently provided copies of the report to Perpetual Treasuries.
This information came to light this morning when call recordings logged in the Perpetual Treasuries system were played before the PCoI investigating the Treasury bond issue of 2015.
According to Perpetual Treasuries Chief Dealer Nuwan Salgado, Arjuna Aloysius had obtained the COPE statements from a person whom he identifies as 'Rosy's son'.
When asked about the identity of the person, Salgado said it was former Parliamentarian Rosy Senanayake's son Kanishka Senanayake.
Former Minister Rosy Senanayake failed to gather enough votes at the last Parliamentary elections but was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister.
