The All Island Lottery Dealers’ Association (AILDA) has threatened to go on strike if their demands to meet with Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera were not met.
Speaking to reporters, AILDA President Krishantha Marambage said the AILDA had requested a meeting with the Finance Minister to discuss their various issues.
However, in the absence of any action from the Ministry of Finance towards meeting their needs the AILDA promised to hold a nation-wide strike soon.
The AILDA previously went on strike earlier this year when the government failed to increase the commission of sellers when the price of a lottery ticket was increased.
