The Southeastern University has decided to shut down two of its faculties until further notice following a clash between students last night (30).
As many as 20 students were injured and admitted to the Akkaraipattu hospital after a group of almost 300 students clashed at the university premises.
A group of about 200 students from the engineering faculty had entered the hostel of the technology faculty and assaulted about 70 students there.
University authorities have suspended the academic activities of about 13 students connected to the clash.
Further investigations are continuing.
