Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts, the Meteorological Department said.

Heavy falls of about 100 mm can be expected at some places - particularly in the Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kalutara, Galle and Matara districts

The Meteorological Department said there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers and warned the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize the damage caused by lightning activity.
