Social Empowerment Minister S.B. Dissanayake said his party would unconditionally support Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne against the no-confidence motion presented by the Joint Opposition.

"No-confidence motion is based on ill-will and hatred," Dissanayake said, while speaking to a group of reporters in Beruwala, yesterday.

"The reason why they presented a no-confidence motion against Senaratne is the latter speaks up on the cases of bribery and corruption committed under the previous government," Dissanayake explained.

"The no-confidence motion has no other objective than embarrassing the Health Minister," he added.

 The Social Empowerment Minister, the Treasurer of the SLFP, dubbed the Joint Opposition's motion against his Cabinet colleague as "nothing but a personal attack."
