A no-confidence motion filed by thirty-nine MPs of the Joint Opposition (JO) against Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne was submitted to the Speaker a short while ago.
MPs of the JO, including Hambantota district MP Namal Rajapaksa, National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa and JO Spokesman Bandula Gunawardena signed the document in Parliament this morning.
The MPs of the JO last brought a no-confidence motion against Foreign Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanyake who subsequently, on August 10, resigned from his portfolio before investigations were initiated against him.
The JO allege Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne’s involvement in several corruption cases and want Parliament to initiate investigations against him.
