The United National Party (UNP) has recommended Justice and Buddhasasana Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe is removed from his post and from the party’s Working Committee.
The decision comes after a crucial meeting of the UNP at the Temple Trees yesterday, where the Premier had said he would make a decision on Rajapakshe ‘today or tomorrow’.
Justice and Buddhasasana Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has been criticised by the national unity government for not moving fast enough on certain of the cases against the previous regime.
His comment to a weekend newspaper, that he would regain the Hambantota Port that was leased to the Chinese for 99-years had also been met with disapproval by the government.
