The government will remove the 10% TRC levy on Internet Services, the Finance Ministry announced today.

Service providers had also agreed to increase additional data by 10% it is learned.

Meanwhile, plans are afoot to reduce excise duty on lorries and single cabs by Rs. 300, 000.

Additionally, duty on motorcycles less than 150 cc will be reduced by 90%, the Finance Ministry said.

The State Minister for Finance Eran Wickremeratne said these were part of a pre-Budget concessionary package and more would be added in the coming days.
