Asgiriya Chapter Maha Lekhadikari Ven. Medagama Dhammanada Thera has voiced his opposition to the proposed no-confidence motion against Justice and Buddhasasana Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.

Speaking to reporters the Thera said, “There have been numerous allegations brought against Justice and Buddhasasana Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe. There are a group of people displeased with him for various reasons.”

“This group of parliamentarians are displeased with the delay in prosecuting certain people, and the other reason is the comment he made recently about the lease of the Hambantota harbor to the Chinese,” the Ven. Thera said.

“For these reasons they have conspired to bring a no-confidence motion against the Justice and Buddhasasana Minister. As the Maha Sangha and speaking on behalf of the Asgiriya Chapter we wants to say that we completely reject this notion,” the Thera said.
