Chairman of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) appointed to investigate the Treasury bond issue Justice K. T. Chitrasiri defended the Commission today saying it will only call evidence that is ‘most relevant’ to the ongoing inquiry and functions ‘only’ within its mandate.

“The attention of Commission members has been directed to the opinions of different parties on the investigations carried out by the commission,” Justice Chitrasiri said.
“Certain parties have questioned the relevance of certain individuals summoned to testify before the commission and have also suggested the names of other individuals who should be questioned by the Commission.” J
