Dengue has reduced sharply in August, data from the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry indicate.
July saw the highest number of dengue contractions – 38, 835 – but August reported only 8, 644 cases, the data shows.
Meanwhile, Acting Director General of Health Services Dr. J. M. W. Jayasundara Bandara said dengue had reduced by 66% in August.
He said that the reduction in cases were the result of a joint effort by the private and public sector.
