The National Co-existence, Dialogue and Official Languages Ministry has initiated the translation of public use forms for government offices in all three languages.
In a statement Minister Mano Ganesan said the ‘I inaugurated translating activity of public use forms used in 882 government offices - hitherto in one language - to Trilingual Format (Sinhala/Tamil/English).’
‘The Trilingual formats will be forwarded to the respective offices for use throughout the country,’ he added.
Public forms in government offices are usually in Sinhalese language, inconveniencing speakers of Tamil or English languages.
