Bond Commission To Continue Sittings Despite Courts Vacation: Moves To Conclude Sessions Without Any Delay

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry to look into the Treasury Bonds issue will continue their sittings despite courts vacation in August.

The three member Commission, appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena earlier this year, yesterday decided to continue their proceedings despite courts vacations starting on August 11.

The decision is aimed at concluding the work of the commission, without any delay.

The official term of the commission ends on October 27.

At the conclusion of the sessions, the commissioners are scheduled to present a report to the President on their findings and observations.

The President's future course of action on the Treasury Bonds issue will be based on the commission's report.
