The awarding of certificates of the 5th batch of the Diploma Course on Media Studies and Journalism conducted by the Sri Lanka Press Council was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the BMICH, yesterday (02).

The special guest lecture titled, ‘Mass media guiding and media freedom,’ was delivered by the Chairman of the Press Council of India, Chandramauli Kumar.

Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera, Deputy Ministers Lasantha Alagiyawanna , Karunarathne Paranavithana, dignitaries including Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa, Prof. Sunanda Mahendra, Senior Journalist Ariyarathna Dombagahawatta, Gamini Sumanasekara, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Press Council Koggala Wellala Bandula and others participated in this event.
