Five suspects have been arrested over an attack on coastguards at Point Pedro on July 21.

The suspects were arrested while engaged in illegally removing mangrove trees.

The five are also suspected of involvement in the attack on a Police Station at Kayt Junction in Point Pedro

The five suspects are between the ages of 20 and 37 and are residents of Karaweddi and Warani.

Four knives, a motorcycle and a cab used by the suspects were also taken into Police custody.
