President Maithripala Sirisena was the Chief Guest at the staging of ‘Thunbiya’ Performing Ballet by Prof. Ariyarathne Kaluarachchi, held on Thursday, at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre.

This ballet has been created after two decades absence of ballets in Sri Lankan history. This also was the first ballet staged in Nelum Pokuna Theatre.

Department of Cultural Affairs organized this event.

Ministers S. B. Navinna and the Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs Anusha Gokula were also present at this occasion.
