Workers of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation have now taken over fuel distribution from the military, CPC sources said last night.
The CPC workers halted their strike and reported to work as talks with President Maithripala Sirisena ended positively last evening.
At the meeting, the CPC unions representatives requested the President to remove the Army from the operations at the Corporation.
They promised to return to work immediately after negotiations.
Following the promise, the Army was gradually phased out from the CPC operations, the sources further added.
The CPC unions, after the talks, said they would announce their final decision on future trade union actions, on Tuesday .
