Captain Ashok Rao, Defence Advisor to the High Commission of India paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake at the Army Headquarters on Monday.

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake was promoted appointed the 22nd Commander of the Army on July 2, 2017.

He succeeds General Crisanthe De Silva who was appointed the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) after promoting him to the rank of General.
