The Cabinet of Ministers, at its weekly meeting, decided to establish districts level committees to resolve ethnic and religious issues.

It was also decided that a national level reconciliation committee would be established towards achieving communal harmony.

President Maithripala Sirisena made the proposal, in his capacity as National Integration and Reconciliation.

The District Secretary will be appointed as conveners for the district level committees, it was further revealed.

The composition of the national level reconciliation committee was not revealed.
