Political parties affiliated with the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) have called for the dismissal of four ministers attached to the Northern Provincial Council (NPC).

The parties affiliated with the TNA, that is, EPRLF, TELO and PLOTE - among others, have alleged the four Ministers attached to the NPC were engaged in large–scale corruption.

Sixteen members of the NPC have reportedly handed over a petition relating to the removal of the four Ministers to NPC Chief Minister C. V. Vigneshwaran.

NPC Chief Minister C. V. Vigneshwaran has set up a special committee to look into the matter.
