A software programme entitled ‘Tell The President’ was officially handed over to the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.
The software programme, which allows the public to record complaints and issues, was previously handled by Sri Lanka Mobitel, but was given over to the government to increase efficiency.
Complaints and issues sent to the Government Information Department hotline 1919 and through email and post are complied by the Public Relations Unit of the Presidential Secretariat and directed to relevant ministries and institutions for further action.
Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom Kumarasinghe Sirisena handed over the relevant documents to the Additional Secretary to the President Sunanda Kariyapperuma and to the Secretary to the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure Wasantha Deshapriya at the Presidential Secretariat.
Coordinating Secretary to the President Shiral Lakthilaka also was present at this occasion.
